Joanie Frantz
Joanie is originally from Greenwich, CT and has been a veterinary technician since 1998 when she began her career at a local veterinary clinic. In 1999 she moved to Colorado in order to further her education, and got a second bachelor’s in Animal Science from Colorado State University. During that time she worked in several small animal practices. After graduating, Joanie got a job in the Small Animal Surgery department at Colorado State University’s Veterinary Teaching Hospital, where she worked with students and faculty assisting with a wide variety of surgeries. In 2008, Joanie moved to Los Angeles where she competed at the ‘A’ level hunter/jumper horse shows and attended Pierce College to receive her associates in Veterinary Technology. During this time she worked at VCA McClave Animal Hospital- a busy 7 doctor emergency clinic in Reseda, CA. After graduating in June of 2009, she passed the National Veterinary Technician Boards Exam and received her RVT license. When she is not working in the veterinary field, Joanie loves spending time on her horse farm where she raises and trains hunter/jumper horses. She loves to go running with her 2 wonderful dogs, fly airplanes, cook, travel and Scuba Dive. |
