Originally from Southern California, Kelly and her husband Josh moved to Colorado after getting married in 2000. Before moving to Colorado, she had attended California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo with a focus in pre-veterinary science. In 2002, she graduated from the Bel-Rea Animal Institute and obtained her Veterinary Technician degree. Immediately, she started working at the emergency clinic in Parker, CO. In 2004, after 2 years in emergency medicine, she moved up to northern Colorado and worked in internal medicine for several years. After Dr. Matt Rooney took over ownership of the emergency business in 2007, Kelly knew she wanted to work with his team and has since become the head technician for the AECC emergency team.
Kelly has loved being back in emergency medicine – it is truly her passion. It has always kept her on her toes, and she loves to provide each patient with as much TLC as she would her own animals/children! Kelly believes that the best part about her job is helping animals through their crises and seeing them through to a full recovery.
Kelly enjoys the outdoors. She has two dogs, Kona and Ezra who love to go on walks, especially in the winter. Kelly plays soccer on a regular basis and also enjoys running and hiking. However, her favorite pastime is spending time with Josh and their daughter, Ruby.
